Really Darn Lovely

Ahh...The Name is Bootsy, Baby!

I'm strutting around town with my boots on, rocking my twa and brandishing my take no prisoners attitude looking like I belong in somebodies 70's nightclub or be an extra in "I'm Gonna Git You Sucka!" So...in honor of these boots and my hometown favorite musician Bootsy Collins, I named this post after his hit song in the 1970's which is appropriately titled. I can even imagine Bootsy strolling around the city in these right here! Now the details on these boots...they are Steve Madden's "Armenda" boots and I purchased them a few years back. These boots are extremely comfortable and the platform has you walking evenly and the cognac color has you rocking them with every color under the sun. Every time I wear these bad boys right here, I turn heads! CAN......YOU......DIG.....IT?

These are the break(outs)!

As a woman well over the age of 40, I am constantly monitoring the status of my skin. My once clear face has been prone to breakouts in recent months, which I think is a result of my workouts and a health supplement I take. But I'm not changing either of these contributing factors so, I will have to alter my skincare routine I have held for over 20 years. So, I have been researching and sampling a wide range of products and wanted to share my old favorites and my new finds.

Old school products

Olay Hydrating Lotion-I have used this for years and I love it! It doesn't leave a greasy feeling after you apply it.
Ambi Fade Cream- I put this on any areas of my face that break out so it doesn't leave a dark spot and it helps keep my face evenly toned. I have used this since high school.
Olay Regenerist Serum- Living in a state that is hot and humid 10 months out the year can leave your skin quite parched and this serum seals the moisture in.
Olay Scrub- I use this scrub 3-4 times a week to keep my face from looking dull. Can you tell that I like Olay products yet?

New Products

Nerium- This skin care cream is being touted as the hottest thing to hit the beauty market in the States in recent years. My neighbor who is a consultant gave me some to try and I honestly didn't notice a difference in my skin to purchase this costly cream. Now mind you, when she let me try it I didn't have any of the skin issues I have going on now. It would be interesting to see if it would work now, I may give it another go.
Breakout Banisher Facial- A vegan facial cleanser. I recently ordered this product and I will share the results with you.
M2(Originally called Mama Lotion)- I have a girlfriend that swears by this product and I must say her skin is flawless, no pores, wrinkles or uneven patches. After reading the reviews on this I am really excited to get this one a try.

Cocktail Time

My weekend is starting off on a good note! So I'm out shopping for accessories for a staging project next week and I get sidetracked by the words SALE! So I am slowing down and head into the...wait for it...liquor store! Honey, let me say this is the best sale I have seen in the area in a long time! I usually head to Dallas to purchase spirits for my bar but a lot of my favorites were on sale.

Cachaca - makes an excellent Caipirinha (Brazilian cocktail)

Pimm's- make the classic Pimm cocktail using Pimm, ginger ale and a twist of lemon

Tequila- Margarita's and Shots

I wasn't planning on entertaining this weekend but hey, I got the Margarita's!

Baby Foot

My Baby Foot exfoliant foot peel has finally arrived in the mail! I am so ready to get these tootsies together, can you say Hammer Time? The peeling stage takes up to a week to get the full benefit of the softening process. So I hope my love can bear watching my Barney Rubble's move about the house. Sectional options

So I am on the hunt for a sectional for my new home, I tried unsuccessfully for almost a year to make my old furniture work in my new space...It's just not working! I'm still trying to see how I will use the space. I do like having guests in my home and I have plenty of parties but, my home is not really a kid friendly but an adult entertaining space. I don't want people to think they cant sit and relax on my furniture but I do want them to treat it nice. I'm still exploring my options...decisions...decisions.

Mmm...Mmm...Monday!

Hey loves, here is a post about that patio of mine I'm constantly changing. I know I may have previously posted on my Facebook page about the patio but some things have been added that is making me love the space even more. So last week I found the wall art from Z Gallerie and I have now incorporated that into the design. Also, the Meyer lemon tree I have been searching for since the beginning of the year has been found, thank you very much Home Depot! I am still tweaking the patio however and every time I sit out there I think of more improvements. I am now looking for privacy screens or shades so I can enjoy sitting outside for a longer period of time without the sun shining in my eyes or the eyes of my neighbors beaming on me!
