Mmm...Mmm...Monday!

KellyWearstler

International designer Kelly Wearstler home line is filled with glamorous luxury finds.  Her items tend to have classic lines with a swanky feel.  The use of brass in her designs can make a piece seem vintage if its distressed or modern if its polished.  Here is a glimpse of my wish list because these items are too rich expensive for my pockets.   I guess I will just spend my time pining over them online or try to find a comparable pieces that are budget friendly.

This little coquette box would look perfect on a coffee table or as a part of vignette on a mantle.

The classic Tulip table receives an instant upgrade with the Carrera marble top and gold leaf base.  This table can be considered an investment piece that you will own for a lifetime.

Imagine this mirror hanging in an entry or hallway over a console table.  It can provide just a hint of glamour in often overlooked spaces.

This sturdy stool is fashionable yet practical.  The back rest insures comfortable seating while the brass finish provides style to any interior space.

Kelly Wearstler designs has had me swooning in recent years I anxiously drool over her designs online.   I'm anxiously crossing my fingers and hoping for a partnership with a major retailer for a more affordable line `a la Target.

Pinkspiration

I'm so ecstatic that the color pink has been showing up in homes, and in every room.  It's no longer considered a feminine shade only seen in girl's rooms or nurseries.  Putting pink in a room can add instant sophistication and/or softness.  The many hues of pink can have different vibes.  Light pink has a soft and airy feel. Dark pink or fuchsia has a fiery and vibrant feel. No matter how you choose to put pink in your home, have fun with it and make sure it's what you love!

Until next time loves!

Design Inspiration

I'm loving the use of gray tones in home interiors. The color of this bedroom puts me in a relaxed mood. The gray and cream works perfectly together to create a tranquil space that will appeal to both men and women.  I so need that settee in the corner and chandelier above the bed!  If I could only get my hubby to give up the ceiling fan in the bedroom...nah but a girl can dream.  I'm itching to change my bedroom colors but I don't like to paint! Oh well, I better enjoy what I have because I'm so fickle I will change my mind by next week!

Z Gallerie accessory shopping

The best part of my job as a home stager is shopping for home accessories. I'm a natural born shopper and what better way to shop then with someone else's money? My go to place for fashionable and stylish items for the home is Z Gallerie. If you are looking to add an usual or trendy piece to your home they have wall to wall options at all price points. Finding new ways to set my table is another benefit of shopping here. Their tablescapes tend to be over the top and extravagant. Every once in awhile I will try my hand at incorporating one of their outlandish tablescapes into a doable look for my own home.

These plume feathers in the extra tall vases can actually work. They are tall enough not to obstruct the view from across the table.

Multiple vases in different metallic finishes are used as a centerpiece.

Using three vases instead of one creates instant drama in this table setting.

Selecting a smaller centerpiece for a petite table would be my choice but, having one tall slim vase can also be visually pleasing.

These chandeliers are a classically shaped but the finish an colors keep them fresh.

I'm having a moment with this nautical chandelier, every time I see it I want it, but I do not have a place for it.  Anyone looking to give their home a coastal feel without filling your home with theme-ish items this chandelier would work.

An open pendant would not take up any space visually and this update can work in contemporary and traditional homes.

This small cabinet would be perfect in an entryway.

This silver sequoia console may find its way into my own home. I've had my eye on it for quite sometime.

Mirror furniture pieces are always chic and having them in small doses add the most bang for your buck.

There is so much to choose from when I visit Z Gallerie that it can become overwhelming to look at so many pieces. To make the process easier, I make sure to take a camera with me and snap pictures of the items that caught my eye.  I often use these images when speaking with clients about adding them to their décor. I hope these pictures and recommendations inspired you to add a little glam to your home. Now that I shared one of my happy places with you all, you guys have to give me all the details on... Where are some of your favorite places to accessory shop? What has been your biggest find? If money was not a factor where would you shop to decorate your home? I have lots of questions but YOU have the answers. Come on and share your best scores with me! Until next time Loves!

Mmm...Mmm...Monday!

The web has been flooded with images from Solange's wedding, and I along with everyone one else just let my mouth hang open after gasping at the beautiful pictures!

This pre-wedding dress is just divine and the bag and shoes add just the right touch of bling to the monochromatic look.

New Orleans has the perfect architecture for a wedding, all the buildings provide the perfect back drop for a stunning portrait.
Riding a bike to your ceremony adds a vintage appeal and adds to the effortless style of the wedding.

How boring to see the same boring wedding portraits time after time, but these give me life!  The pictures are out the box and create a vintage imagery that I cannot stop looking at!

This is a picture I would love to capture for myself, gazing at family and friends who are blessing your union.  I feel the love from my family and friends, but to have a photo that you can look at is priceless.

Just another stylish ensemble to end her wedding weekend, Solange rocks a one leg jumpsuit!  Where they do that at?  In New Orleans and they did it well!

Global Chic

Here are some global chic rooms that I like to lust look at and draw inspiration from.  Just a glimpse of these looks heighten my senses and I feel as if I'm drifting off to some exotic locale.

Can you imagine hosting a dinner party and all the guest sat on the floor? It's informal and sexy at the same time.

This living room is align with my need to have my main furniture pieces in a neutral color and to kick the look up with interesting accessories in vibrant colors.  I am still searching for some nice ikat or suzani printed curtains.

The color of the wallpaper in this bedroom is too busy for me but everything else in this room is giving me life.  The dramatic ceiling makes the room seem cozier.

Fancy, formal and ethnic yep that's what I like!

What looks and designs are you liking?  Is it the same design style from 5 years ago?  Do you pick form or function when choosing furniture and accessories?

If you are having trouble designing a room or pinpointing your style feel free to drop me an email I love to hear from you!

Spanish Revival

Just wanted to share some design inspiration with you all from the wonderful designers at HGTV.  While I do like looking at this Spanish Revival design, my eyes were immediately drawn to the rug. After further inspection of the room, I don't know how practical or comfortable the seating would be for everyday living.  I could see the pieces separately but altogether they wouldn't work for my family.  That daybed however would fit rather nicely in my office I may have to hunt for something similar.  What design styles do you enjoy?  Have you incorporated your favorite design style in your home décor?  My design style has changed over the years so I'm ready to switch up some pieces in my home.  I guess I just have another excuse to shop!

I would love to be lounging here right now with a cocktail in my hand and pleasant thoughts on my mind!

Mmm...Mmm...Monday!

I can see myself wrapped and tangled in the covers, lying in the middle of this bed!  My design loves are all over the place, I cannot pick one style I favor over another.  If I were single my bedroom would probably look similar to this one.  I would just need to add more pillows!  Unfortunately for me, my husband loves modern design so all I can do is look, lust and....compromise.

Until next time!

Office inspiration

I have been lusting browsing through designs of offices and can not wait to complete mine!  I see great design inspiration everywhere.  Now that my business has been steady picking up, I really do need a completed office.  If I can just combine my office needs with my need for a library that would be the best. I'm planning my floor space now and trying to ensure that all my storage needs are met and than its a race to locate the most feminine pieces I can find and love.  No thinking about the hubster, or his likes or wants in my office.  Wow, to have glass, chrome, animal print or something pink!  All the things my hubby is not fond of.  Oh well, I do know I have a minimal budget but a girl likes to dream BIG!

Bohemian Rhapsody

Here's a little evening design inspiration.  I love all the different colors, prints and textures!  Everything is just lovely!

Iman Home Ibiza Collection

This February Iman released her bedding and bath collection with designs inspired by her travels across the globe.  My first glimpse of her collection happened when I was flipping through an issue of Elle Decor and some of Iman's must haves were listed and my eyes were immediately drawn to the pillows she listed.  I was surprised to learn that they came from her own line, so after doing a quick search online for the pillows I discovered that she has a whole bed and bath collection.  The beautiful colors and prints of Morocco, Hollywood and Ibiza come alive in her global chic designs.  I haven't been able to locate the items in a store yet, but believe me when I do those Ibiza pillows are mine!

Morocco

 Hollywood

 Ibiza

I hope you enjoyed this feast for your eyes.  Until next time!

Dream Design

As I was browsing through pictures on HGTV.com, I came across this outdoor space by Jamie Durie and fell head over heels for his design.  The pops of yellow leap out against the landscape and I have never seen a pergola built like this one it seems more intimate than open.  Well excuse me while I continue to swoon....

 Until next time!

Pier 1 Imports

Just back in from what was suppose to be a quick trip to Pier 1 but it turned into a hour long drool fest.  I can literally stay in that store for hours on end!  While I'm browsing the store I think of the many ways I can use an item to justify the purchase.  Those mini glass cups would be great filled with a cerviche or melon soup this summer.  Those tall copper candle holders can work on my patio, living room or bedroom.  Imagine the purple cracked glasses in a glamorous table scape.  A nice bright wreath would pop against my dark wood door.  I was fine in the store just browsing, content to window shop and then it happened......my eyes got watery, my fingers started to twitch, my breathing became labored and right before I thought I would lose control my hubby rushed in and carried me out!  I must confess...... I have a serious case of Too Many Damn Pillows and I almost relapsed by making a purchase.   LOL!
