Landscaping Lullabies

Have you ever been tired of shopping?  I didn't think I would get tired, I know I would probably run out of money before I ever utter the words "I'M TIRED OF SHOPPING!"  But this lady here is tired!  Couple my enthusiasm for the sale on flowers at Lowe's with my struggle to get my allergies and sinuses in check has me seriously dragging.  It doesn't matter how tired my body is I can still work this mouth and scream at the top of my lungs "GO to LOWE'S"!  They have been slashing the prices on flowers since Sunday.  So after the minor success with my garden and early landscaping efforts, I took the plunge and purchased some flowers. Here's a peek at what I purchased and I will post pictures on my progress and have a final reveal.

Night Love's, see you all on the flip side!  *the pots are from Ross and Tuesday Morning*

Mmm...Mmm...Monday!

The Doux
As a fairly new user of Instagram, I became quickly enamored with the access to all these creative and talented people at my finger tips!  And The Doux did not disappoint my thirst for all things fly!  This is how it went down.  After posting a picture on IG a person I was unfamiliar with stated they liked my photo and I clicked on the user to see who it was and that turned into a hour long love fest looking at the page and website!  I looked and lusted over the products and items at The Doux, for two days .  These hot hair care products and accessories are in one hip hop inspired word DOPE!

The Doux is the brain child of military spouse and natural hairstylist Mya Smith.  This LA based stylist who  took her talents to Kaiserlautern, Germany with her military spouse will soon be bringing her style, flavor and love of all things Hip Hop back to the States! Her haircare products are currently unavailable due to the move but I will keep you posted on their availability.  The packaging is what immediately grabs my attention, I would even leave these "dare I say? out on my counter."

Her Doux RAG line with its eclectic mix of hip hop themes, street style and a retro flavor are all that and a  bag of chips!   Check the funky names of each doux rag.  I can not wait until her site and products are available so I can share them with you all, so I will just drool for now and work on my rhymes!

Betsey Johnson

As I was perusing my regular shopping sites this morning, I almost let a big sale from one of my favorite designer's slip past me.  Betsey Johnson is having a huge clearance sale on her site.  You can find a wide array of items to choose from and I just had to post some of the items that caught my eye.

I'm not sure how long the sale will last so shop fast!  You all know there are no returns on sales items so shop smart!

Until next time!

Peter Pilotto

Peter Pilotto is the latest designer to pair up with Target and bring their high end fashions to the budget conscious fashionista.  I excitedly made my way to Target to see what designs they had in the store before the cyber super shoppers purchased everything to re sell on eBay.  Lo and behold they had a vast variety in my store, in all sizes there was even an abundance for my curvy frame.  Here's a quick look at his designs on Kerry Washington.

The designs for Target that attracted me to his line.

What I found in the store...

This is how I made it work for moi!

The end result is that I love the vibrant colors and how the bold prints are balanced with the black.
Until next time!

Mmm...Mmm...Monday

I hope you all had a great weekend, I thoroughly enjoyed mine.  I did a whole LOT of window shopping this weekend!   I take immense pleasure in browsing as well as making purchases, but it's still nice to come home with a few bags.  I can stay in stores like Z Gallerie, Anthropologie and Crate & Barrel for hours on end and I really like how the visual merchandising is set up in each store.  I get a TON of my design inspirations from these stores as well as numerous websites and magazines.  While browsing the accessories in Z Gallerie I walked past this wall art and fell in love lust, you can put tea lights in the back of this an illuminate the whole thing. It's such a striking piece to add to my décor.  I am still undecided on where I will eventually place this in my home but, here is a picture to get idea of what I'm talking about.  I am so loving this piece and cant wait to design a room around it!  What item in your home have you designed an entire room around?

Until next time!

Mmm...Mmm...Monday!

I have been on the fence about having either a built in banquette or settee in my kitchen but after seeing these beauties from Home Goods it looks like I'm on the hunt for a settee.

Until next time.

Mmm...Mmm...Monday!

Thrifting has never been my thing but, I have been inspired by other bloggers and YouTuber's who have found some awesome items at their local thrift store.  Well lo and behold I go to my local Goodwill and found these bookends! These bookends are very heavy and well made from solid wood.  I only paid $9.99 for them and when I looked at the bottom the original price was a whopping $75.00!  I'm undecided where they will eventually end up but for now they are resting on the mantle in my bedroom.  If you thrift, what was your favorite purchase?

World Market finds...

So I just spent a wonderful afternoon perusing all the beautiful things located in one of my favorite stores, World Market.  I could and did spend hours getting lost in all their wares from the gourmet food items, to the quirky household items, accessories and gorgeous tablescapes.

When was the last time you stopped by World's Market?
